Frequently Asked Questions

Does Crescent Respite offer Medium Term Accommodation?

While we specialise in short term accommodation, we can provide medium term accommodation in specific circumstances. Whether you stay with us for a short time or a longer duration, all our respite care services are personalised to match your needs. Discuss your needs with our team today and we can provide you with more information.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding and support for people with disability. The NDIS can help you cover the cost of short term accommodation, so you can focus on your recovery. Many of our services are covered under the NDIS to ensure you can get the care you need.

I'm a support worker, should I be there to help?

If you're the carer or support worker of a person who will be staying with us, this is your chance to relax for a little while. Of course, we may need some information from you to help care for our new resident. If they need specific support, or they have support plans in place already, we can take those into account when creating a tailored support plan for their time with us. Our support coordinator discusses this with our resident's support workers when they move in.

What other activities do you offer?

We offer a wide range of activities to ensure there's something for everyone. Activities include art therapy sessions, group fitness activities, group outings, movies viewings, music, workshops and more.

What is short-term accommodation?

Short-term accommodation (STA) is typically a stay of up to 6 weeks in a supported environment. It's a great way to live comfortably for a while and get advanced support. You are able to choose when and how much support you need, all while enjoying our facilities. While there are many specialised STA providers in Australia, each offers different services. It's important to find the one that's right for you and can provide you with the care you need without stifling who you are as a person.

What levels of support do you offer?

With Crescent Respite's specially designed facilities we can cater form all levels of care requirements. While many of our residents simply need a space to rest for a while, we can cater to all needs, even those with very high support needs. You can rest assured that you're in good hands with Crescent Respite.
